Wolverine, portrayed by Hugh Jackman, is a prominent character within the X-Men film franchise. He first appeared in live-action in the movie X-Men (2000).
Born James Howlett in the late 19th century, Wolverine possesses several superhuman abilities, most notably accelerated healing and retractable bone claws in each hand. The claws are later bonded with Adamantium, an virtually indestructible metal. These abilities make him a formidable fighter.
